He melded elements of rock & roll, soul, jazz, and folk, both with his iconic E Street Band and as a solo artist. His breakthrough album, 1975's "Born to Run," catapulted him to fame, followed by successful records like "Darkness on the Edge of Town" and "The River." "Born in the U.S.A." in 1984 made him a global superstar. Despite a hiatus in the '90s, Springsteen's 2002 album "The Rising" marked a comeback, and he continued to produce acclaimed work, including "Magic" and "Letter to You." He also ventured into diverse projects, from "Springsteen on Broadway" to soul covers on "Only the Strong Survive."
